Sell Medicare Advantage Year Round

AEP is over, but selling Medicare Advantage doesn't have to stop. Plenty of opportunities still exist, and the best part is we have LEADS in several states.

For those who are wondering how to continue selling MA plans, keep these items in the forefront:



  • SEP - several plans have withdrawn their products, so the SEP continues into the new year.

  • CIP - a newest carrier, Care Improvement Plus, specializes in special needs plans. You can sell SNIP (special needs plans) year round. CIP has leads in many states. Call us for leads that may be available in your state.

  • United Health Care also offers SNIP plans. Ask us about their marketing kits for year round selling.

  • Disenrollment Period - Starting in January, this period does not allow beneficiaries to enroll into new MA plans, but it is an opportunity to sell Medicare Supplements to those beneficiaries wanting out of their current MA plan.

AEP Is Over -- Now What??

AEP is over and hopefully you had a successful selling season. According to reports I am hearing from carriers and top agents, new enrollements did not live up to expectations. The reasons can be explained as follows:





  • Few plan withdrawals this year, so members were not forced to move.


  • Members happy with current plans, so no reason to move


  • Doctors and Hospitals more receptive to plans, Med Advantage plans often pay quicker than traditional Medicare.


  • Low or no premiums. Since most plans held their premiums low, there was no financial incentive to switch.


The good news for everyone is that although new sales were down, everyone's renewal commissions should be terrific!
